Someone else's boat

There are many charter opportunities, sailing schools and youth training schemes
Probably every sailing club in the world has options to sail without your own boat, whether hire or crewing for others.
Many people, whether or not part of a club welcome volunteer crew ... but there's work to do.
The RYA's "Push The Boat Out" scheme demands special mention.

RYA "Push The Boat Out"

Every year (pandemics allowing), the RYA and it's various affiliate members sponsor a day or few days called "Push The Boat Out".

From early May each year, venues across the country offer ‘have a go’ taster sessions for all! No previous experience is necessary so why not find out how you and your family can get involved with sailing, windsurfing and watersports locally.

The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) is an important umbrella organisation in the UK that does a great many things for sailors of all types, from advice to sailing and navigation courses, to lobbying on our behalf to legal support.

Their website is a source of information for so many of the things we want, need and do. Visit and explore; consider becoming a member.
